Oxygen can be used both as a remedy and as a means of prevention and stimulation of different life support processes. As elderly people have clear symptoms in case of oxygen shortage in the body, we will observe the influence of the use of this gas by them.

The elderly people have practically the same lungs volume, but as they become less active physically, the depth of their breath and the volume of the air that comes into the lungs decrease considerably. As a result, much less oxygen comes into the body, which gradually leads to hypoxia of different organs. The bran and the cardiovascular system are especially affected by a shortage of oxygen.

Oxygen therapy administered with the help of special oxygen equipment beneficially influences the patient’s mood and his appearance – he becomes more confident, sociable and lively.

After the body is saturated with the necessary amount of oxygen, headaches that are a problem for many elderly people become less frequent or disappear altogether. Sometimes they reduce the amount of medicine taken to stop headaches, and there are also cases when it is no longer necessary due to great effect of oxygen therapy.

If the brain is saturated with the necessary amount of oxygen before sleep, the quality of sleep and its depth will improve considerably and the person’s working capacity will increase substantially. That’s why doctors recommend the elderly people a walk in the fresh air before sleep. Thus if the sleep at night becomes deeper, it will make the person more active during the day, improve his mood, increase working capacity and reduce the possibility of conflict situations development.
